Fun Things to Teach about Zebra
Kids adore learning about different animals. This letter Z craft is a perfect opportunity to teach your little one about the amazing animals that zebra are.
Here are a few facts to share with your little one because you know they will want to know. 😉
There are such fun names for groups of animals, and zebras’ group name does not disappoint.
A group of zebras is called a dazzle. How cool is that?! They can also be called a herd or a zeal.

The stripes on zebras serve a purpose. When the dazzle comes together, predators can’t tell where one zebra ends and another starts because its stripes create an optical illusion.
Similarly, the stripes on the zebras act as insect repellants. The biting flies can’t perceive where the zebras are because of the stripes.
Zebras are mammals and herbivores. There are three species of zebras, all of which are from Africa. Their numbers in the wild are not doing well. Some species are endangered, while others are listed as vulnerable.
Lastly, zebras are fierce! They will kick and fight to protect themselves or their dazzle. Being members of the same family as donkeys and horses, it’s no surprise they are great at kicking.
