How to Use the Valentine’s Day Printable

1. Print out the Valentine’s Day color by number sheets.

2. Decide (or let your little one decide) what sheet to complete. They differ in difficulty, number of colors used, and the size of the spaces to be colored.

3. Color the key with the colors corresponding to what it says. For example, at the top, it may say ‘pink’ for number 3. Color in the crayon next to the number 3, pink.

Doing this will help your preschooler be more independent. They will be able to refer back to the key to see what color to use.

4. Let your little one get to work. Only have out the colors of the crayons required for the picture they are completing.

If needed, you may want to talk through a game plan. Ask if they plan on starting with one color and finding all the numbers matching it.

They may have a different plan, like coloring the items in the middle of the sheet to figure out the picture. Let them try their plan!

5. Admire the Valentine’s Day color by number. Give it to someone as a special Valentine’s Day gift.
